In this podcast, Amelia Loye interviews Craig Carter-Edwards about social networks, social innovation and open government. Craig also shares a little bit about Welcome Home TO an initiative he is leading to connect refugees to services and people in their new community.
Craig is a change-maker with expertise in Public Affairs, Communications and Community Building. Through challenging roles in the Public, Private and Not-For-Profit sectors, Craig has developed a deep understanding of how government, business and charity function and the challenges that arise through cross-sectoral communication. Craig is the Community Animator Trainer (DECA) at the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) and an Independent Public Relations, Government Relations and Strategic Planning Consultant.
Amelia met Craig online about 6 years ago and they have been supporting each other’s work ever since. This was the first time Amelia and Craig met in person. Craig hosted Amelia at Salad Club at the Social Innovation Canada co-working space and after a day spent talking about social innovation, open government and how people and organisations are participating in community and governance, Craig took Amelia to Civic Tech, Toronto.
